On the guard
The ICE onQ code goes onto every standard Snugfit mouthguard, alongside the name and logo.
Every standard Snugfit mouthguard carries an ICE onQ emergency QR code — part of the Health onQ ecosystem. One scan shows the critical medical information uploaded by you — to whoever reaches them first.
Three moments, and only one of them asks anything of you.
The ICE onQ code goes onto every standard Snugfit mouthguard, alongside the name and logo.
Fill in the form once, or link a Health onQ profile you already have.
Any phone’s camera opens it. Nothing to install, nothing to remember.
ICE onQ — Emergency Care is the in-case-of-emergency product in the Health onQ ecosystem. Behind the code is a single screen: critical medical alerts, emergency contacts, and the essential details someone needs in the first minute.
It is built and run by Health onQ, whose ecosystem lets people own their health records and choose exactly who sees them. Snugfit’s part is simple — we put the code where an athlete will always have it.
The guard protects the teeth. The code protects the athlete — which makes it the rare piece of kit that is also a healthcare decision.
In one place, on them, every time they play — for the moment a child or athlete cannot answer for themselves.
The Health onQ ecosystem
ICE onQ is one part of something larger. Health onQ is a patient-authorised healthcare ecosystem: you collect and own your health records, you build a Care Circle of practitioners you trust, and you decide — record by record — who is allowed to see them.
The same profile that a practitioner sees with your permission is the profile ICE onQ shows in an emergency. Fill it in once; it works everywhere in the ecosystem.
Collect, organise and manage your health records in one secure place — medications, records, treatments, dependants and your Care Circle. Your information stays yours, and sharing is a toggle you control.
In-case-of-emergency access. A QR code — on a mouthguard, a helmet, a bag — that shows critical medical alerts and emergency contacts to whoever scans it, without a login and without an app.
Gives practitioners a list of the patients who have trusted them with access to their healthcare information — so care is given with the broader picture in view, not half of it.
Where a practice runs on Practice onQ, treatments administered can appear automatically in the patient’s Health onQ treatment history — each entry attributed to the practitioner who made it.
Health onQ is delivered through the Fusion onQ app. Download Fusion onQ, sign up, and the Health onQ medical profile is created for you automatically.
The ICE onQ emergency QR code is a health feature, so its limits are worth reading rather than burying.
The ICE onQ emergency QR code is carried on the Standard Sports Mouthguard only, where it is included in the advertised price. It is not available on orthodontic guards, biteplates, retainers or bleaching trays, and cannot be added to them as an extra.
The code does nothing until the Health onQ profile behind it has been completed and activated — either by filling in the form at collection, or by linking an existing Health onQ profile. An unactivated code shows no information.
Neither Snugfit Mouth Guards nor ICE onQ is liable for out-of-date health information displayed when the QR code is scanned. Keeping the profile accurate and up to date is the responsibility of the customer or guardian.
The code opens a web page, so the phone doing the scanning needs mobile data or Wi-Fi to load the health records. Snugfit cannot guarantee network coverage at any venue or field.
The QR code provides information only. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor, it does not summon help, and it is not a substitute for calling emergency services or for the judgement of a qualified medical professional.
The purpose of the code is that a stranger can read it in an emergency, so it opens without a login. By activating a profile you consent to the information on it being shown to any person who scans the code.
The health profile is collected, stored and processed by ICE onQ within the Health onQ ecosystem, under Health onQ’s own terms, privacy policy and POPIA obligations. Snugfit Mouth Guards does not store, access or process the medical information behind the code.
The code is applied to a mouthguard that lives in a gum shield box and a kit bag. Damage, heavy wear or modification may make it unreadable. A guard whose code can no longer be scanned is replaced on the same terms as any other replacement guard, at the standard price.
The scanning service depends on the ICE onQ platform remaining available. Snugfit Mouth Guards cannot warrant continuous availability of a third-party service, and the mouthguard itself is unaffected by any interruption to it.
Where the athlete is under 18, the profile must be created and maintained by a parent or legal guardian, who consents on the child’s behalf to the information being displayed when the code is scanned.
These terms apply in addition to Snugfit Mouth Guards’ standard terms of sale, and alongside the terms and privacy policy of Health onQ, which govern the health profile itself. Questions? Talk to us.
Same guard, same fitting, same craftsmanship — now carrying something worth scanning.
